Week-end of Surgeries....

Yesterday I finally had my heart ablation surgery. It was a little scary to be having but it was amazing to see what doctors are able to do. Here is what the surgery is just in case you wanted to know.

"Cardiac ablation is a procedure that can correct heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias). Ablation typically uses catheters — long flexible tubes inserted through a vein in your groin and threaded to your heart — to correct structural problems in your heart that cause an arrhythmia."

So with me I had too many paths from my brain to my heart so the doctor went in to burn the extra paths away. The surgery took three hours and I was awake for a short part of it (which is normal). It was crazy to open my eyes and see the monitors with pictures of all the catheters inside my heart. They put in five total.

So the surgery found two extra paths from my brain to my heart that they had to burn. My doctor, Doctor Chan, told Joey that the paths were really close to the path that actually controls my heart, so the surgery was a little risky but my Doctor is the best and he told Joey he has a reputation to keep! Funny huh?!?!

After the surgery I had to lay flat for 5 hours and when it was finally time to walk around I totally fainted!

So now my heart is finally fixed, something that I was born with my they really didn't know how to fix till now. I'm still a little loopy, which you can probably tell but trying to read my writing. Now we are going to get ready to take Mikey to the hospital to get his tonsils out. Prayer for our little guy! He is so sweet and I know he is going to cry from the pain.

Wow, surgery - glad to hear it went well and that you had a good doctor. I remember back in middle school with your irregular heartbeats. And now Mikey- has he been having a lot of strep throat with the tonsils? Poor guy!

Wow!! What a big October for your little family. I didn't know you were having heart surgery or that you even had any problems with your heart. I am glad it all went well. Do you feel any different?

I will keep my Mikey in my prayers. I am curious to see if his huskey voice will change...It did for the other Wittens who had their tonsild out. Tell him to enjoy the icecream.

Oh my goodness! I'm glad it went well--I would have been so nervous! Poor Mikey, too--I know that kind of pain & I don't care how much ice cream in the world there is, you still don't like it when your throat feels that way. Hope you & Mikey both hang in there through your recoveries.
